Celebrating Heritage. Embracing Diversity.
Welcome to the Montclair Jewish Workshop (MJW), established in 1996. We are a community-focused organization dedicated to enriching our children's understanding of Jewish culture, values, and history through secular education. Our mission is to instill a sense of social justice, ethics, and cultural appreciation, fostering a commitment to a more just and peaceful world.
As a cooperative, MJW thrives on family involvement. We encourage active participation in committees, planning, and hosting gatherings. Our informal and welcoming environment invites all families to join us.
Our Mission
MJW aims to deepen our children's connection to Jewish heritage while promoting inclusivity and understanding in a diverse society. We believe that education in Jewish culture and history enhances our identity and empowers us to contribute positively to the broader community.

MJW Graduation is not a Bar or bat Mitzvah, but borrows some key sensibilities from these traditions. Graduating students work on projects that address a social need. They present their projects to family and friends at a Graduation ceremony in early June.

MJW families celebrate major Jewish holidays together, including Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, Purim, and Passover.
